The ever-increasing demand for air transport services continues to put the resources of the world’s busiest airports under tremendous pressure. Many optimization models have been proposed for runway scheduling, aircraft sequencing and other problems related to air traffic flow management. In this talk we discuss how to develop new approaches which explicitly take into account uncertainty caused by weather conditions and other operational factors.
