Abstract

The design and simulations of novel vacuum tube amplifiers at terahertz frequencies can be performed only by 3-D Particle-in-Cell simulators with a huge computational cost. This paper describes an approach based on the combined use of a Lagrangian code and a 3-D PIC simulator for a fast design and simulation.
