Abstract

This chapter argues that rethinking deeply embedded dichotomies in dialectical terms can enrich and deepen the study of leadership, open new approaches to theory and practice, and address important ontological, epistemological and methodological implications for research and analysis. The chapter concludes by addressing why dialectical research fits squarely within a critical leadership studies framework. as well as discussing theory–method implications of a dialectical research agenda.
