N2 - In the digital economy, data is regarded as a critical resource for value creation, while digital technologies fundamentally reshape how values are reflected and enacted in society. This transformation calls for new frameworks for HCI and design researchers to understand the complexity of design practice in relation to value creation and destruction in Human-Data Interaction. Although a significant body of HCI research explores Human-Data Interaction for value creation, they rarely examine how designers navigate competing values and make decisions in data-driven design. In this one-day in-person workshop, we aim to bring together researchers and practitioners to foster broader reflection and dialogue on navigating these challenges by synthesizing both published and unpublished works. Our goal is to create an unapologetically honest platform for broader public discourse on the real impact of Data-driven design on society and its unintended consequences.
