Abstract

The increase of COVID-19 pandemic, commonly called as coronavirus, has caused serious problems in the society leading to deaths of many people, affecting businesses, jobs and education all over the globe.
To reduce the spread of virus social distancing, avoiding group gathering and physical contact are the potential solutions. In this chapter, we exploit the benefits of UAVs deployed as Aerial Base Stations or relays for terrestrial communication, for crowd surveillance and monitoring as the key aspect to enable social distancing restrictions.
