Abstract

Our world is becoming brighter and brighter at night due to the increasing amount of light pollution, especially in our towns and cities. We tend to associate light with safety and security and do not always question the impact of artificial light upon our health and biodiversity. Perhaps it would be useful to also consider what we might value about darkness? Join Nick Dunn for an adventure into the Chorlton night – the time when the true nature of darkness reveals itself and familiar landscapes can be explored anew. Take a collective nightwalk away from the streetlights and explore the rich potential of darkness for our senses.
