The results of three studies of the discursive construction of national (Austrian) identities are compared, thus illustrating the change of these constructions over 20 years. The data comprise speeches and interviews of politicians, commemorative events, exhibitions, TV series and radio broadcasts on the end of WWII 1945, the Austrian State Treaty 1955 and EU accession 1995. Moreover, newspaper reports are analyzed in respect to the so-called refugee crisis 2015. Group discussions allow insight in to semi-official debates.
