Abstract

A report on the particle size and molecular weight distributions of clinical bone cements was presented. Acrylic bone cement was considered very influential in determining sucessful long-term performance of total hip replacement (THR) surgery. The curing process of the bone cement was the result of free radical polymerization of a mixture of prepolymerized PMMA beads and liquid methyl methacrylate (MMA).
