Internet of Things (IoT) is driven by the proliferation of connected devices and objects that promise significant benefits to society through a network of physical and virtual objects built through the continued proliferation of sensors, electronics and software to enable objects to achieve greater value, by the exchange data with other connected objects via the Internet. However, while IoT opens up a whole range of technological possibilities and opportunities, it also presents significant challenges related to access control. This paper takes preliminary steps towards providing a service orientated access control middleware, that can support the early stage of our proposed RECON model.
