N2 - Soluble and porous: Soluble conjugated microporous polymers (SCMPs) can be prepared by synthesizing discrete hyperbranched molecules. The materials can be cast from solution as thin films (see picture), suggesting a range of processing options that are not available for insoluble CMP networks. Soluble, conjugated dendrimers are porous and give insight into the structural origin of microporosity.
