In this article the literature on masculinity, gender and technology or science provides the context for discussing two case studies where new information technology has recently been introduced. The empirical material is counter-intuitive to the general understanding that technology reflects and reinforces men's masculinity and the article provides a variety of theoretical interpretations for these findings.
