Abstract

This chapter is an endeavour to underscore Ahmadinejad’s apocalyptic ideology. To this end, critical discourse analysis (CDA) is used by this chapter as a theoretical and methodological tool. By using intertextuality and interdiscursivity, as two CDA methodological tools, it is shown how Ahmadinejad’s first speech at the UN was shaped by Islamic texts and apocalyptic ideology.
