N2 - In the context of interactive digital TV applications (iDTV), mentalmodels can be especially useful to represent the cognitive structure of usersduring learning these applications. These models help to highlight whichelements (e.g. behavioral and spatial) are perceived by users, thus contributingto a proper understanding and use of learning objects, created for iDTVenvironment through metacommunication between developers and users. Theresults of this study show that the use of metaphors as storyboard and naturallanguage are recurrent among users and that the elements of an interactivenarrative for iDTV are not yet fully understood by beginners users.
