HighWire Technical Coordinator, Research Student
I have a technical background in Computer Science graduating in 1990 with a B.Sc. (Hons) 1 st Class degree from Lancaster University in the UK. My early career was in research and development in academia, industry and central government departments. More recently I have returned to student life as a PhD student within the HighWire Doctoral Training Centre back at Lancaster University. My research is looking at DIY and maker cultures and the role of craft and craftsmanship in a contemporary digital society. My specific interest is in how the development of a craft sensibility and associated knowledge might be supported through a re-interpretation of Csikszentmihalyi’s ‘Flow’ concept from a social perspective.
