Sudden increases in concentrations of tropospheric ozone adversely affect human health, plant ecosystems and can even damage building surfaces. High levels of ozone occur infrequently and are difficult to model. My research focus is on quantifying the likelihood, frequency and magnitude of extreme ozone across the UK using extreme value analysis.
