In my evidence, I focus on seapower and freedom of navigation. In light of current changes in the strategic environment, I explained that freedom of navigation and Western leadership of the global maritime order are top strategic priorities that a refreshed Integrated Review should further emphasize. I recommended that HM Government commit to long-term, sustained investments in the Royal Navy, the UK maritime sector, and other underlying components of seapower, such as oceanography and outer space assets.
