My PhD thesis is focused on human cannibalism in relation to gender and sexuality in fictional media. This project aims to build on my undergraduate dissertation, which compared representations of queer cannibalism and hygiene culture in the TV shows Hannibal and DAHMER. 

Research Interests

My research interests include:

  • Human cannibalism
  • Queerness and gender identity
  • Representations of deviance in fictional and non-fictional media
  • Cults and deviant religious behaviour
