Auroral and Magnetospheric Physics. Investigating the structure and the dynamics, including internal processes, of the Earth's magnetosphere through a combination of ground-based and in-situ satellite observations such as SuperDARN.

Other research interests include auroral formation mechanisms, ionospheric plasma flows and magnetic reconnection, particularly at the geomagnetic tail.
