Jing ZHANG is a third-year PhD candidate in Environmental Science at Lancaster University and working as a research assistant in the project SIRIUS (Sustainable, Innovative, Resilient and Interconnected Urban food System). Jing has an interdisciplinary background with a BA degree in Public Administration from Nanjing University and an MA degree in International Relations-Energy, Resources and Environment from Johns Hopkins University and Nanjing University. Prior to Lancaster, Jing has worked as an intern research assistant in various NGOs, including the US-China Business Council, Clean Air Asia and World Agricultural Heritage Foundation.

Jing currently focuses on the resilience of food systems through an actor-based lens, primarily looking at the actors suffering from disturbances and how the nature of actors, and the relationships between actors may affect food system resilience.
