The focus of my research are the points at which the public and private sectors meet to organise and develop the economy. This has led to projects on regional development, the creative and craft sectors, and the Anthropocene.
I joined Lancaster in November 2022, having previously worked at the University of Leicester School of Management. I have also held visiting positions at the Industrial Strategy Council, Copenhagen Business School, and the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in Viet Nam
I am Director of Postgraduate Programmes for LUMS, overseeing the strategic development of our entire Postgraduate portfolio. In addition, I teach on modules related to international management and HRM, leadership and research methods.
During the course of my career I have worked on projects which have generated over £5 million in research income from a range of funding bodies including the ESRC, AHRC, EU, Regional Studies Association, British Academy, British Council, UK Government and the CIPD. I have undertaken fieldwork in the UK, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Italy and Denmark as part of these projects.
