Former Research Student

Thomas Jalili Tanha

Research Grants

I am grateful to be funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the Department of Marketing and Lancaster University Management School.

Research Interests

I am interested in researching concerned markets, market politics and the strategizing-as-competing practices of actors that make, shape and transform those markets. My research is informed by market studies, actor-network theory and practice-based strategy research. Currently, I am performing ethnographical research in a variety of markets and sectors to support the international low carbon energy transition. In particular, I am looking into the strategizing practices by actors to make markets that mobilise a circular economy for electric car batteries. The resulting fieldwork stretches from energy and car markets to research institutions, regulators and policy makers to name but a few.

Current Teaching

In the academic year 2019/20, I teach students in MKTG101 Introduction to Marketing as well as MKTG229 Routes to Markets.
