Blockchain, which currently is the most established decentralized peer-to-peer distributed system, sheds the light on a self-sovereign and password-free biometric identity management solution. By recording biometric identity template on the blockchain, a e-passport system is built upon BBC in W3C standardized digital identity format (JSON Linked Data). The tie between biometric identity template, one global unique person, and globally unique decentralized identifier are mutually and securely recorded as an immutable transaction on the blockchain, which make the tie cannot be repudiated. To preserve biometric data integrity and privacy, digital signature and biometric encryption is used.",
