Abstract

The use of spectrally efficient modulation schemes in future communications systems require power amplifiers which combine high conversion efficiency with good linearity. This paper examines how the efficiency and linearity of a helix TWT depends upon the choice of the parameters of the electron beam and the helix slow-wave structure.
