Although Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) has the potential to contribute to the advancement of Teaching English as an International Language (TEIL) research and practice, this is a largely unexplored area. This chapter responds to this with an examination of the development of CALL and more recent advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to address this gap. It explores the use of technology inside and outside classrooms and the associated implications for TEIL. In doing so, the TEIL-TPACK (Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge) model is presented to direct TEIL research and practice.
