N2 - The Epilepsy Research Institute’s Mortality, Morbidity and Risk Theme workshop on Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including basic science researchers, clinicians and clinical researchers, charity partners, bereaved individuals and people with epilepsy to identify important gaps in pre-clinical and clinical SUDEP research. Collectively, the SUDEP workshop highlighted recommendations for future research to address several identified gaps and the need to develop infrastructures that utilise data-driven approaches to reduce SUDEP risk. National and global cross-institution collaborations will be fundamental in driving these research efforts forward.
