Abstract

The paper shows how Proportional-Integral-Plus (PIP) control system designs can be developed on the basis of linearised, reduced order models derived from a complex nonlinear simulation model of a glasshouse micro-climate. Such designs, which can be in single input or multivariable form, provide logical successors to the more conventional PI and PID controllers used heretofore.
