New high precision measurements of the normal fluid density of liquid 3He·-B have yielded some surprises. In particular, it seems that the so-called 'stripped' normal fluid density is independent of pressure, quite contrary to expectation. The experiments were carried out by Archie, Alvesalo, Reppy and Richardson of Cornell University and are reported in a recent issue of Physical Review Letters (43, 139; 1979).
