Abstract

Measurements of the a --> c and a --> b absorption bands have been carried out in normal He-4 and He-3 under various pressures and temperatures. We have found that the blue shift of the a --> c increases with the pressure and with the particle density of the liquid in accordance with the "bubble" model. We have studied changes in the characteristics of the spectra at the superfluid transition. It was found that the width of the (0-0) a --> c absorption line strongly increases with the temperature.
