N2 - Quantum coherent properties of an artificial two-level system in a Josephson-junction circuit were studied experimentally. Responses of the quantum state to a sequence of gate-voltage pulses were measured in time-ensemble measurements, and free-induction decay and "charge echo" signals were obtained. It was found that the decoherence of the two-level system is dominated by the dephasing due to low-frequency charge fluctuations.
