Abstract

The labels ‘complex’ and ‘complexity’ are increasingly being applied to describe the demands of projects and programmes. Indeed, the number and size of projects that merit the title ‘complex’ appear to be on the rise. Yet, practitioners and researchers alike identify the shortcomings of the traditional classical approach of project management to address such features.
