Abstract

Allyson's keynote first enumerates some of the major Austrian women writers and their translations into English before highlighting some of the pitfalls of translating Elfriede Jelinek. Samples are taken from Die Liebhaberinnen, the Prinzessinnendramen ('Jackie') and from Rechnitz.
