Description

Research objective:
This research project will pursue two related research questions:
a) To what extent and how do actors in organizations draw on previous experience during phases of organizational change? The research project will aim at identifying how actors involved and / or in charge of organizational change draw on the experience from prior change initiatives inside the organization. It will also study the mechanisms through which this experience is brought to bear on a particular change project.
b) What are the enablers or constrainers involved in applying prior change experience to new contexts? A second, but related question will investigate the organizational conditions that affect to what extent prior change is experience is brought to bear on a particular change initiative. This might involve (apart from other aspects) the role of resistance to organizational change.
