Research overview

Prof Qiang Ni's main interests are Wireless Networks, Communications, IoT, Data Analytics and Machine Learning techniques, including Energy-Efficient Green Communications, Cognitive Radio Networks, Broadband Wireless (5G), Intelligent Communication Techniques, SDN Networks, Fog/Cloud computing, Big Data Analytics, AI and Machine Learning, IoT, Smart Grids, Wireless Sensor Networks, Vehicular Networks (VANETs), Quantum Communication and Mobile Positioning. Prof Ni is a Voting Member of IEEE 1932.1 standard. He is a Vice Chair of Big Data with Computational Intelligence SIG, IEEE ComSoc Technical Committee on Big Data. He was an IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN standard working group Voting Member. China CSC PhD applicants/visitors are very welcome!

Prof Qiang Ni is a Chair Professor in Communications and Networking at School of Computing and Communications and Data Science Institute at Lancaster University. He is the School's Director of Postgraduate Studies (previously was School's Deputy Director of Research) and the Head of Communications Research Group. Prof Ni is a Fellow of IET, Fellow of Higher Education Academy and Senior Member of IEEE. China CSC PhD or visitors are very welcome!
