I am happy to help students interested in Environmental Economics. Some specific topics I can provide guidance on include: the role of carbon pricing in climate change mitigation, the design and effectiveness of voluntary carbon markets, the impact of corporate governance on climate action, analysis of environmental justice in the UK.
Dr. Slechten's main research interests lie in Environmental Economics, Applied Microeconomics, and Market Design. Her published work covers various topics, including carbon emissions markets, the impact of asymmetric information on International Environmental Agreements, firms' location and pollution decisions, and the influence of corporate governance practices on firms' environmental performance.
Currently, her research focuses on four key areas: the microstructure of carbon emissions markets, corporate social responsibility, the relationship between board of directors' networks and environmental performance, and pollution-driven residential mobility.
Dr. Aurélie Slechten is a senior lecturer in Economics. She holds a PhD from the Université libre de Bruxelles (2013).
