Dr Beth Caldwell is the Learning Developer for the Faculty of Health and Medicine.  Beth designs and delivers tailored, proactive and inclusive initiatives in the faculty to help students develop their study strategies and academic writing. 

Career Details

Beth completed her PhD in Anthropological Genetics at University College London in 2005 and then worked as an assistant editor, publishing Life Science and Management journals.  She started lecturing in Study Skills and English for Academic Purposes at the University of Central Lancashire followed by University Campus Oldham and the University of Huddersfield before joining Lancaster University in 2018. Beth is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a Certified Leading Practitioner of Learning Development (CeLP) of the Association of Learning Development in Higher Education (ALDinHE). In addition to her Learning Development work, Beth is an active, multi-disciplinary researcher with an interest in social and cultural studies of science and medicine, as well as pedagogy and education.
