Research Fellow - NIHR Decision Support in Gynae Radiotherapy, Research Fellow, Research Student
I am a sociologist and qualitative researcher with research interests in: patient care and experience; health inequalities; trauma-informed approaches; bodies; disability; health & illness; science and technology studies; critical mental health.
I am co-applicant and Research Fellow on the GRACE project (Gynae Radiotherapy Consent Enhancement): an £800k project funded by NIHR which examines how health services can better support people’s decision making when considering radiotherapy for gynaecological cancer.
I am also a researcher on the NIHR PARITY project, exploring issues of quality and inequality in prehabilitation before cancer surgery.
My PhD considered the application of Pierre Bourdieu’s social theory for understanding the social position of disabled people during the period of austerity politics.
