Research overview

My research interests are in the hydrology of managed ecosystems.  In particular I am interested in runoff generation and connectivity and the mobilisation and transport of pollutants in overland flow.  My current project (NutCat 2050) aims to build a framework for predicting nutrient runoff under different climate change and land use change scenarios. This will help to improve understanding of nutrient movement and help farmers to plan land management.  I have also worked on the Mitigation Options for Phosphorus and Sediment 2 Project (MOPS2), which determined the effectiveness of field wetlands for controlling diffuse pollution from agriculture (mops2.diffusepollution.info).
