Abstract

This collaborative project set out to examine the views and solutions of young people, to generate sustainable public policy in the backdrop of Covid-19 and the urgent need for action to protect the environment. We adopted a participatory approach to the research – to work with young people and policy-makers, to co create sustainable public policy. At the outset, we envisaged the research taking place in one city – London. However, due to savings made during the project (the willingness of the Greater London Authority, in particular, to pay for the time of the young researchers we worked with in London and pay for incentives and catering for events, and our decision to opt for automatic transcriptions rather than professional transcription services). This increased our capacity – enabling us to undertake innovative co design workshops, led by Dr Calvo, in a second city – Lancaster.
