Abstract

I have created and am maintaining this website, which features the first catalogue of known literary back-translations across the world.
It explains what literary back-translation is, why it matters, how it can be done ethically, and how it contributes to decolonization.
It invites researchers and common readers to get in touch through a contact form, to contribute to the catalogue. All contributions are gratefully acknowledged on the website.
It enabled me to "build" the subject as a proper subfield of Translation Studies.
It also enables me to foster a community of young researchers working in that subfield.
It also served to promote and ensure the legacy of the first book on the subject which I have edited (Edinburgh Press; in press).
